Summer Institutes
Governor's Institutes of Vermont
Governor's Institutes of Vermont are for high school students in grades 9 through 11.
The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont (GIV) are one- to two-week residential summer programs for high school students (grades 9-11). They are offered by colleges throughout Vermont. Institutes are offered in different subject areas, for example: arts, engineering, entrepreneurship, global issues & youth action, health & medicine, mathematical sciences, technology & design, and weather & climate science.
GIV is designed to help you explore life on a college campus and try out an area of study.
You must apply for GIV, and applications are usually due in early spring each year. GIV has a sliding scale tuition structure that is based on your household's income.
