NORA Bronze Oilheat Service Technician Training | Certification

This program is intended for adult students. High school students may be able to apply, as well.

The Bronze Certification is a program for those who have minimal field experience as an oilheat technician. The program is designed to teach individuals the fundamental skills of oilheat. This class is the first step towards a career as an oilheat service technician.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): National Oilheat Research Alliance Bronze Oilheat Technician Certification.

Diversified Agriculture Program | Certification

This is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

The Diversified Agriculture program provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary for careers and college studies in a variety of paths like vegetable farming, landscaping, forestry, and environmental science.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): Game of Logging Chainsaw Safety Training Certification Levels 1, 2, 3, 4; National Safe Tractor & Machinery Operation Certification.

Automotive Technology Program | Certification

This is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

The Automotive Technology program prepares students for work or further study in the automotive field. Areas of concentration include steering and suspension, brake and exhaust systems, electronic and engine performance, working with transmissions, and overall general repair. Students gain both entry-level experience and specialized training.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): Vermont State Inspection Certification; Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Entry Level Certification(s)
in Automobile Service Technician, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical Systems, Engine Performance, Engine Repair, Air Conditioning, Suspension and Steering.

Construction Trades & Management Program | Certificate

This is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

Students participate in both classroom and off-campus projects that include many areas and phases of construction work, including carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing. In addition, students are introduced to local contractors and manufacturers who offer students a range of apprenticeship opportunities. Graduates of the Construction Trades Management program are prepared to enter a two- or four-year college program in construction management or other building-related fields.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): NCCER Level 1: Carpentry Certificate; NCCER Construction Core: Introductory Craft Skills Certificate.

Culinary Arts Program | Certificate

This is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

The goal of this program is to provide students with the skills necessary to enter Vermont’s culinary and hospitality industry. These careers can be in foodservice, hotel, or other tourism-based jobs.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): National Restaurant Association ServSafe Certificate: Food Handler.

Dental Assisting Program | Certification

This is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

This program teaches students to provide patient care, conduct dental x-rays, prepare patients and equipment for dental procedures, and discharge office administrative tasks under the supervision of dentists and dental hygienists.

The Dental Assisting program includes instruction in medical recordkeeping, general office duties, reception and patient intake, scheduling, equipment maintenance and sterilization, basic radiography, oral photography, pre- and post-operative patient care and instruction, chairside assisting, performing tooth and mouth impressions, and professional supervision. Students have the opportunity to practice their dental assisting skills in the school-based lab and at local dental practices.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): Certified Dental Assistant Certification.

Diesel Technology Program | Certificate

This is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

The Diesel Technology program provides students with an opportunity to learn life skills while learning diesel theory. Students learn a variety of methods including repair, service, and maintenance of diesel engines in a variety of forms: automobiles, agricultural and construction equipment, trucks, and busses. Students have the opportunity to work with customers, suppliers, and other professionals. Returning students who are at least 18 years of age are eligible to earn their Commercial Driver’s License.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Entry Level Certification in Medium/Heavy Diesel Engines; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Digital-Filmmaking & Media Arts Program | Certification

This is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

The Digital Filmmaking & Media Arts program provides students with the opportunity to produce a number of videos including narrative films, documentaries, commercials, music videos, video journalism, and/or web series. Within these projects, students are given the opportunity to do each of the steps involved in production. Beyond these projects, students read (or watch) and analyze articles, movie scenes, and films.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): Adobe Certified Associate Certifications in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash, and Premier.

Electrical Technology Program | Certificate

This is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

The Electrical Technology program gives students everything they need to prepare to be electricians in the career field of their choice. Students may work indoors or outdoors on a variety of construction projects as well as in the program’s lab. This course provides training to prepare electricians in both the fields of residential and commercial work.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): NCCER Construction Core: Introductory Craft Skills Certificate; Level 1 VT Electrician Apprenticeship.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Upgrade “B” to “A” Training | License

This training is intended for adult students. High school students may be able to apply, as well.

This program will teach you the skills needed become a professional truck driver. When you complete the classroom and over-the-road state approved curriculum, you will be ready to take the state-required CDL skills test to obtain your Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), upgrade from Class B to Class A.
