And you’ll explore how an interdisciplinary approach that blends public policy, research, and population health science is critical to implementing public health interventions that prioritize the lived experiences of diverse populations.

The Larner College of Medicine Division of Public Health’s Micro-Certificate Graduate Study in Public Health Informatics is a 9-credit, 3-course program that will provide students with introductory competency in informatics and quantitative public health.

UVM’s Certificate of Graduate Study in Resiliency-Based Approaches (CGS RBA) prepares educators and health/human service professionals to address the complex challenges associated with trauma and adversity using restorative, strength-based, and collaborative approaches that build resilience, so that children, youth, and families can thrive and learn within and beyond school borders.

This program addresses the growing need to improve workforce capacity for professionals who can successfully implement resiliency building strategies addressing the heightened incidence of trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

UVM’s Certificate of Graduate Studies (CGS) in School Library and Media Science offers professional preparation to become a licensed school librarian with the skills to create robust learning environments for school communities.

Offered over a two-year cycle, courses includes a mix of asynchronous online work and opportunities to engage in a professional learning community through synchronous sessions. Designed for those with or without teacher certification, the CGS includes six graduate-level courses.

This curriculum addresses the essential competencies for School Librarians required by the State of Vermont. Courses reflect current standards for school librarianship as described by the American Association for School Librarians (AASL), the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), ALA/AASL/CAEP School Librarian Preparation Standards (2019), and Vermont Standards for Educators.

The Certificate of Graduate Study in Sustainable Family Enterprise, will provide a comprehensive, relevant framework for you to lead your family enterprise into new sustainable, and purpose-led business approaches.

Graduates of the Certificate of Graduate Study in Sustainable Family Enterprise will learn how to:

• -Differentiate between family and non-family enterprise/business.
• -Describe the significance and diversity of family business.
• -Analyze the structure and systems used by entrepreneurial and sustainable family businesses.
• -Identify the best and next practices of innovative family firms in sustainable development.
• -Differentiate between family businesses designed with the sustainability DNA from others that transform a legacy business towards sustainable development goals (SDGs).
• -Learn the basics of family philanthropy and advising.
• -Evaluate role of family business in sustaining (or depleting) the regional economy and local community.

The University of Vermont’s Micro-Certificate of Graduate Study (mCGS) in Learning and Development in Higher Education is a 9-credit program made up of three courses. Explore theory and real-world practice of teaching and learning in higher education—focusing on curriculum design, effective instructional strategies, and the identity development and experiences of today’s diverse student populations.

The entirely online graduate-level certificate requires 15 credits covering the field of Sustainable Enterprise. There are four required courses (12 credits) from three core enterprise content areas, including: accounting, marketing, operations, and supply chains, and one required course (3 credits) in a capstone course designed around leading sustainable innovation.

Students can choose one elective course (3 credits) from a variety of topical electives, including: finance, new business models, and entrepreneurial family business. The program will offer two online courses each semester, with students expected to take one or both courses. Students may start the program in the fall, spring, or summer, so it will be possible to complete the program in one year.

Public health is a multidisciplinary field, combining health policy, research, and population health sciences, with a focus on promoting health and preventing disease in diverse populations. UVM’s online Certificate of Graduate Study in Public Health is a concise, six-course introduction to the field of public health.
