Climate Change and Human Health | Graduate Certificate

The Larner College of Medicine Division of Public Health’s Micro-Certificate Graduate Study in Climate Change and Human Health is a 9-credit, 3-course program that gives students the opportunity to explore the human health impacts of climate change.

Collaborative and Resiliency-Oriented Practices with Schools | Graduate Certificate

This micro-certificate (mCGS) pathway emphasizes the collaborative nature of building resiliency-fostering schools and human service environments that prevent trauma and enhance well-being. Students gain a deeper socioecological understanding of the structural solutions inherent in equity, culturally sustaining collaborative partnerships with students, community professionals, and families, and resilience.

Agroecology | Graduate Certificate

Rooted in “Participatory Action Research” (PAR), UVM’s program guides students to identify key questions and practice new methods for integrating data from multiple perspectives (farmers, academics, activists, policymakers, etc.). This is used to both better understand agrifood system issues, as well as search for solutions that show real promise to help resolve issues on the ground.

The 15-credit, one-year Certificate of Graduate Study in Agroecology (CGSA) combines ecological, social, and economic perspectives in the pursuit of practical solutions to contemporary problems in our food system. The coursework consists of four foundational classes, and a final synthesis capstone course.

Advanced Specialties in Educational Practice (M.Ed) | Master’s Degree

The Master’s Degree in Advanced Specialties in Educational Practice is designed to provide innovative educators with opportunities to grow within the profession by reinvigorating their current practice or gaining credentials to seek new roles within education. Emphasis in core coursework and across pathways is placed on advancing justice, building criticality, centering humanistic pedagogies, and building and sustaining a reflexive practice.

Our 9-credit microcertificate of Graduate Study in Agroecology provides students with the fundamentals of agroecology with a smaller commitment of time. Starting with the required foundational course (Transformative Agroecology), students will then take Ecological Foundations of Agroecology and Agroecology, Food Sovereignity & Social Movements.

Software Engineering & Project Management | Graduate Certificate

Through a program that emphasizes hands-on learning putting theory into practice, and working with cutting-edge technologies, students will gain critical technical skills (including knowledge of over 23 key applications, platforms, and programming languages, listed on the website) in addition to valuable soft skills such as communication and leadership that will help them stand out as a well-rounded software development professional. Students will also have the opportunity to differentiate their degree through a certificate in a specialization of their choice in C++ Programming, or Software Development.

Organization Development & Human Relations | Master’s Degree
